I went on another whimsical trip to Borders and picked up another novel that looked interesting. It actually was really interesting because I read and finished it in one night! It is called If I Stay by Gayle Forman. I am going to wait a day or two to post this review up because it was an extremely emotional novel and I want to let my first review soak in for a day or two before I throw another one at you. This novel will definitely make you cry throughout the entire thing. I was bawling my eyes and reading through blurry eyes, but the novel was so in depth and made you think, that I couldn't stop reading.

At the end of the book, I discovered that the story was bought by Summit Entertainment to be made into a movie...and Catherine Hardwicke was casted on as the director. Summit thinks this story will be the next Twilight, but this will be so much more emotional than Twilight. If the movie is going to be anything like the book, then there will be people crying throughout the entire thing, which definitely did not happen during Twilight!

Review: Shade by Jeri Smith-Ready

As the first review that I have posted on this blog, this novel ended up being the perfect choice. This novel had everything that a reader could ask for.... A heroine who doesn't need saving, but feels like she can save herself, recognizable musical references, a love triangle with major complications, and a love interest with a Scottish accent. Another thing it also had to keep readers turning its pages late into the night was the multiple mishaps that the main character, Aura, runs into throughout the novel. Unlike some novels that keep all the mishaps and incidents to the end of the book, which always keeps me stopping in the middle of the story, this novel keeps you turning the pages, wondering what will happen next. Jeri Smith-Ready did a wonderful job with the writing style and the references that were used. I know I got excited at points when I recognized a reference and if it was a song, which most of the time it was, I would want to open up iTunes or YouTube and listen to the song to see how the characters were feeling. When I previously said that I hoped that this novel would be just as good as Jeri Smith-Ready's novel, Wicked Game, I wasn't sure if I would be proved right, but this novel exceed my expectations. I am glad that this was the book that I randomly picked up at Borders and bought on a whim. It was a good choice and if you are looking for a novel to read during summer days and nights, this is a great novel to pick up and will keep you turning pages and reading late into the night!

Today, I went to Borders with some friends of mine and I picked up a book that I thought looked interesting. It's called Shade by Jeri Smith-Ready. If any of you have read the novel Wicked Game, they are both by the same author. I have read Wicked Game in the past and found it to be a great novel. I'm hoping that Shade will live up to the expectations that I have of Jeri Smith-Ready from what I have read of her work in the past.

Here is a summary of the novel and if it seems like something that would interest you, check back in a few days and I should be finished with it and have my review posted.

Hopefully I will have the review for this novel posted within 2-3 days, depending on how interesting the novel is and how fast I finish it.

Information and Introduction

Hey everyone! Avid Reader here.

I'm just starting this blog, which will have mainly reviews of books that I pick up at the library or bookstore, but if you want to discuss other things, feel free to start comments with conversations related to other things. Just keep it clean.

I am open to all genres, but I am a fan of Young Adult & Adult Romance novels. I am also a fan of Old English masterpieces.

Now some things about me - I am 18 years old. I just finished my freshman year of college and I am an English major and History minor. I either want to teach English to high school students or work for a publishing company as a Novel Editor. In my free time, I love to read, hang out with both my friends and my boyfriend, watch movies, and listen to music.
